Architectural Photography Inside and Out

2 Mondays, July 20 and 27, 2009
9:30 am to 12:00 pm, $110

In this two-session course learn how to photograph interior and exterior architectural subjects. The first class includes a lecture to review the speciality and familiarize students with this unique type of photography. The second class includes an on-location photography assignment. Topics include location scouting, preparing the site, security clearance, releases, ambient vs. flash use and special equipment needed. Please read your camera manual beforehand and bring it with you along with your camera, fresh batteries and tripod if you have one, to the second class. This workshop is suitable for beginning through advanced DSLR users. A handout will be provided.

The Bells and Whistles of the Digital Camera

Are you frustrated in trying to use your digital camera, and the manual isn’t really helpful? Learn how to take photographs easily during this hands-on workshop. Topics include camera use and settings, minimizing shutter lag, optimizing image quality, zoom, flash & exposure compensation and white balance. Please read your camera manual beforehand and bring it with you along with your camera and fresh batteries. This workshop is suitable for point-and-shoot or beginning SLR camera users. A handout will be provided.

The Art of Artwork Photography

Learn how to photograph both 2-D and 3-D artwork. Angle of view, lighting, metering, polarizing and appropriate lens type/focal length will be covered. Basic knowledge and familiarity with your camera (whether SLR or point-and-shoot) is required. Bring your camera, manual and tripod if you have one and a 2-D or 3-D work of art to photograph (optional). A handout will be provided.

Zeff U - Introduction to Portrait Lighting

Learn a variety of lighting techniques to enhance your portraits of family and friends. Create pleasing indoor or outdoor portraits using natural light and/or flash. This course will include lectures, demonstrations and hands-on photography sessions both indoors and outdoors with a review of students’ images. Topics to be covered include posing, composition, depth of field and modifying light with reflectors, diffusion and flash.
 
Requirement: Basic knowledge and familiarity with your camera (whether SLR or point-and-shoot) and flash. Bring your camera manual and tripod if you have one.
