| Brookline Rotary Club Veterans History Project | ![]() |

We recently collaborated with personal historian David O'Neil of Story Trust to honor Brookline war veterans by recording and preserving their stories for current and future generations. Eligible veterans were any man or woman who participated in combat and non-combat active-duty service during wartime from The Second World War to the present conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. We photographed five veterans in a variety of settings, including head and shoulder portraits, environmental portraits, and the veterans holding photographs of himself while in the military or war memorabilia. Story Trust incorporated our still images with their audio recordings into two-minute videos. View them online from these links: Brookline Rotary Veteran - Barrett Jones Thank you to Ronny Sydney for spearheading this idea! We hope to carry this project into other Rotary Clubs. If you know of a veteran with a story to tell, please have him/her contact David O'Neil of Story Trust, 617.755.3283 or david@storytrust.com. Photograph: "Phil Sandler" by Lynne Damianos.

| Ice Skating, and Lunch at our Studio | ![]() |

Lynne has started a Monday tradition during the school year. Join her for ice skating at Loring Arena across the street from our studio. The rink is typically empty during this time of day and they will play a CD from your collection while you skate. A great way to spend your lunch break! Check with Lynne for her skating schedule; it's typically Mondays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm (only $4 per person; bring your own skates). Regulars include other artists from Fountain Street Studios. We invite you to join us for lunch any day of the week. We love company! Our studio has become a meeting place for many of the artists in the building. Bring your bag lunch and join us around 12:30 or a little earlier. If you're not a lunch regular, call first to make sure we aren't out on location photographing. Photograph: "Ice Skates" by Jeremy Graves We have a full schedule of classes for the New Year! Topics include how to use your camera, artwork photography, darkroom printing, portrait lighting and photographic composition. Lynne and Jeremy will be teaching workshops at the studio and various other locations. For more information, please check out our classes listing. The first workshop starts on January 11th. Register before time runs out! |
